2005 12.2 Liver Chestnut Mare
The first of our homebred ponies to be shown under saddle, Royal Flush has continued to excel on the national stage. After returning from the breaker in May 2011, her 1st major competition was the ESA HOTY where she won Champion 12.2 Pony piloted by local Kangarilla rider Jess Marnie. February 1012 saw the combination start an interstate campaign that saw then take out Champion 12.2 pony at Barastoc under four UK judges and later that week take out Champion Novice and Champion Open 12.2 pony at Canberra Royal. She concluded her first season under saddle with Champion Small pony at the Sydney Royal Easter Show – all in what was her newcomer season.
Her second season saw a win at Adelaide Royal, and a repeat win at the ESA HOTY – this year in the new “Medium Pony” (12-13 hh). Qualifying for the EA Nationals in the medium pony met a new challenge – competing against a number of well performed ponies that she would only ever meet at this particular show. Again, the girls put together a flawless show and Royal Flush was declared champion. With the success she had achieved during the 2012 season, Royal Flush was awarded the ESA Show Horse of the Year award – a high point award contested by ponies, galloways and hacks.
The 2013 season started in a similar fashion to the 2012, this time with a runner-up at Barastoc and again being declared Champion 12.2 pony at Canberra Royal. First out to work at the Grand Nationals, Jess and Royal Flush set the pace and worked well to take out Champion 12.2 pony, giving her the big double of the EA Nationals and the Grand Nationals all in the one season. At Sydney Royal we decided to start her in the Ridden Riding Pony classes, where she won her 12.2 class and was declared Reserve Champion Ridden Riding Pony. A third ESA title to her credit, and Runner-up Medium pony at the 2013 EA Nationals, also secured for the second year running – the ESA Show Horse of the Year Award (Hi-point award).
